Assistant Principal

It is my honor to serve as a part of the West High School Leadership team as the Grades 9-12 Assistant Principal. I'd like to take you through my educational journey to let you know how I became the servant leader that I am today for your children.

I graduated from West High School in 1995 as the Salutatorian. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University and my Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University. I began my teaching career as a first grade teacher at Connally Primary School and moved to teach at West Elementary in 2005. I began my administration educational journey in Aquilla ISD where I served on their district administration team for four years (2013-2017). I served the community of Aquilla as their Director of Student Services and Assistant Principal. I received the Aquilla "Carry the Ball" Award in 2015 when I held concurrent positions as the Assistant Principal and the PK-12 Counselor. I returned home to West in 2017. I have served as the West Elementary Assistant Principal, West ISD DAEP Coordinator, West Middle/High School At-Risk Program Coordinator, and West Middle School Assistant Principal.

I am married to David Pratka (Class of 1990), who works for Sykora Family Ford, and we have four children, Kaylyn Waters (WHS Class of 2008/Assistant Principal of Connally Early Childhood PK/K), Keaton Pratka (Class of 2012), Conner Pratka (Class of 2021), and Jaxson Pratka (Class of 2026).
