Theresa (Terri) Tobola R.N., District Lead Nurse
I would like to take the time to introduce myself as the West ISD Lead Nurse. I have loved empowering and supporting students and families at West ISD to know that they are able to get through anything.
I began my Registered Nursing career in 1995, and when I graduated, I went to work at Providence Hospital. What I find to be the most rewarding about being a Registered Nurse are the numerous career paths that are available within the profession. For example, in my nearly 25+ year career, I have been blessed to work in Cardiac, Renal, Med Surg, Wound Care Specialist, Chemo, and Orthopedics for numerous years at Providence Hospital and then I went part-time teaching Certified Nurse Aid Classes to have a family.
Eventually, I had a calling to work in long-term care where I served as Director of Nursing at two facilities, a 145-bed facility and a 165-bed facility for 10+ years. With all the experience I gained from working in numerous specialty areas, my insight gained in dealing with real-life situations enabled me to become a successful seasoned school nurse.
School nursing has always been something that I have been passionate about, and I always knew that at some point in my life, I would pursue a career as a school nurse. In December 2009, I embarked on my new journey here at West ISD. I am honored because I am an Alumni of West ISD and so is my husband and two sons. This is home!
It is my goal here at West ISD to keep our children healthy, safe, ready to learn, and in school. I truly believe that communication is key to success, so please do not hesitate to contact me. It is my pleasure to serve our school community and especially, the students in our District.
