English IV
I am serving West High School again this year as a secondary English teacher. After 27 years in education - 26 as a Reading-Language Arts teacher - I am looking forward to the challenge of preparing graduates for life after their public education. In addition to teaching English IV, I will also continue coaching football this fall and track in the spring.
After starting my teaching career in 1997, I taught in three different school districts - McGregor, Gatesville and Robinson - before coming to West in 2015. I'm hoping to draw from the many great experiences I've had as a classroom teacher and assistant principal to humbly serve the students, parents, faculty, staff and administration of West ISD as we strive to establish our district as the best in the area.
My wife, Misty, and our two sons, Cannon and Kai, joined the Trojan family in 2018 and we moved into the community in 2019. Misty is an assistant principal at West Elementary; Cannon just finished his high school career as a 2024 WHS graduate, and Kai is continuing his high school adventures as a sophomore.
As we enter the exciting 2024-25 school year, I am confident that with the amazing leadership, remarkable faculty and staff, and committed students, this will be a year of great accomplishment. Our joyful and positive attitudes will propel us through this fantastic opportunity...Go Trojans!
