Happy Sunday, Trojan Families!
We have another exciting week ahead at West High School! This week includes college and career readiness activities, TSIA2 testing, PSAT preparation, academic tutoring, Trojan Academy, FAFSA assistance, athletics, and the final weekend of Seussical the Musical!
❤️🖤 Here's what our Trojan families need to know this week! 🖤❤️
🎓 MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th — CCMR MONDAY! 🎓
Mondays are College, Career & Military Readiness Days at WHS!
📝 12:40–1:15 PM — ADVISORY
Students will complete their Weekly Student Planner and check their academic progress.
Students, use this time to look ahead at your week, check for missing work, and make a plan for success!
🎺 5:00–8:00 PM — PRIDE OF WEST BAND PRACTICE
📝 TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th 📝
🎓 8:45 AM — TSIA2 MATH TESTING
Seniors: You received an email from the counselors and a ParentSquare message from them if you need to take this. :)
Students scheduled for TSIA2 Math testing should watch for information from WHS regarding their testing location and instructions.
📚 12:40–1:15 PM — ACADEMIC TUTORING DAY
Tuesday's Advisory will be dedicated to academic tutoring and student support.
Students should use this opportunity to ask questions, complete missing work, and get additional help where needed.
❤️🖤 3:45–4:45 PM — TROJAN ACADEMY
📍 WHS Room 2.04
Trojan Academy is available every Tuesday and Thursday for students who need additional time or academic support.
Students may attend voluntarily or may be assigned by a teacher.
If a student is assigned Trojan Academy, both the student and parent/guardian will receive a ParentSquare message from the teacher with the assigned dates and work that needs to be completed.
If the work is completed before the assigned dates, the student will no longer be required to attend for those assignments.

🎓 PSAT DIGITAL READINESS CHECK
Juniors in Physics Classes
Our juniors will complete a PSAT Digital Readiness Check during their Physics classes to make sure devices and students are ready for upcoming PSAT testing.
📚 12:40–1:15 PM — UIL ACADEMIC PRACTICE
Students participating in UIL Academics will have practice during Advisory.
🎨 3:45–4:45 PM — ART CLUB
📍 WHS Art Room
Art Club meets every Wednesday!
All students are welcome!
🎺 4:00–6:00 PM — PRIDE OF WEST BAND PRACTICE
8:00–9:00 PM — JUNIOR HISTORIANS PRACTICE
🎓 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1st 🎓

We are incredibly thankful for our WHS custodial staff and everything they do behind the scenes to take care of our school each day!

💛 YAM — YOUTH AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH
Texas A&M University representatives will continue the Youth Awareness of Mental Health (YAM) program with 9th grade students in Coach Rogers' classes.
📸 9:00 AM — HOMECOMING NOMINEE PICTURES
Homecoming nominees will take pictures with The West News.
🎓 9:30 AM–2:00 PM — FAFSA WITH MCC
Seniors in Dual Credit/Government/Economics Classes
Representatives from McLennan Community College will be at WHS to assist seniors with completing the student portion of the FAFSA.
Seniors, take advantage of this opportunity to get help with this important step in the college financial aid process!
