Message from the New West High School Bass Fishing Club
They’re ready to fish. They’re just waiting for someone to help them get there.

This is the first year West High School has organized an official fishing club, and the excitement has been incredible. But the West Trojan Bass Club still has over 20 excited kids patiently waiting for their chance to compete. What’s missing is a boat and someone willing to be their captain.
The West community has always stepped up when needed most, without hesitation. Time and again, you have shown our kids what it means to be supported by a community that cares. We’re reaching out with that same hope as we work to get these young anglers on the water.
With only 3 tournaments left before the Bass Fishing Championship, we’re asking our community to help give these kids their turn. Tournaments are on Sundays, just once a month.
If you own or have access to a boat, please consider volunteering as a boat captain. You would be giving more than a day on the lake. You would be giving these kids someone to learn from, someone to encourage them, and a chance to feel the pride of representing their school.
Years from now, they may not remember what their fish weighed or where they placed, but they may remember the person who showed up and made room for them in the boat.
There are kids still waiting. You could be the person who makes their first tournament possible.
Contact Darrell Bartosh at 254-715-1625 if you can help.
