Events & Activities this Week!

Monday, November 17th

WHS CCMR Dress up Day! Wear your favorite College, Career, or Military Readiness Gear!

10:30am SSR Letterjacket Orders in the Cafeteria

10:30 am Advisory:
  • Students will go to their 2nd period teacher's advisory class.
  • Students will receive an email from the counselors with a lesson about "Why Gratitude is so Important?" Students will have an activity to complete creating "Gratitude Grams" that will be delivered during lunch on Thursday and Friday!

  • Seniors that still need to take the TSIA2 Math have been added to the Edmentum class. This course has been tailored to what they need to help them pass the assessment. Teachers, if you have Seniors, please have them work on this during Advisory.
  • Link to TSIA2 Reading/Essay Powerpoint with links to practice tests and Class Companion. All students can use the links in this powerpoint to practice for the TSIA2. (This can only be opened using a WEST ISD email account.)
 

Tuesday, November 18th

10:30am Advisory UIL Practice Day! Please see the schedule that was emailed to you from Mrs. Woodard. Please refer to this ADVISORY spreadsheet on where students should be. (You must have a West ISD email address to be able to open this link. Access will not be given.)

  • NOTE for ADVISORY TEACHERS of SENIORS:

Wednesday, November 19th

8:00am YAM (Youth Awareness of Mental Health) will be in Coach Biles and Coach Hill's classrooms all day.)

8:50am TSIA Reading/Essay/Math
  • We will be testing Seniors that still need READING/ESSAY/MATH and JUNIORS that need TSIA2 READING OR ESSAY.
  • Please click below for the list of students that will be testing. (Please note that you must have a West ISD email address to open this link. Access will not be granted.)
  • Click here for the list of Seniors
  • Click here for the list of Juniors
  • Mrs. Pratka will be sending out a ParentSquare message to all students and their parents that will be testing to let them know which test they will be taking.
  • We will start testing 2nd period. We will test through 4th period. Students that are still testing at the end of 4th period will be consolidated into one testing room and remain testing. They will go to the WMS lunch period.
  • Students who complete testing will remain in their testing room through 4th period and then be dismissed to go to WHS lunch and then 5th period.

10:30am ADVISORY:
  • All students need to report to their 2nd period teacher's classroom.
  • Students will continue the about "Why Gratitude is so Important?" Students will continue working on their "Gratitude Grams" that will be delivered during lunch on Thursday and Friday!
  • SALT Meeting during Advisory

3:45pm ART Club will meet in the ART room

4:30pm West FFA Swine Validation at the Extraco Event Center in Waco

6:00pm WABC Meeting in the Film Room

8:00pm Jr. Historian Practice
 

Thursday, November 20th

HIGHER ED FAIR IS TODAY!
Sophomores 8:30am
Juniors 9:00am
Seniors 10:10am
Freshmen 11:00am

Important Information for today:
  • ALL STUDENTS REPORT TO 1ST PERIOD
  • Mrs. Gerik will announce for students to come to the higher ed fair
  • The bells will ring at their normal times and those not scheduled to be at higher ed fair will continue in their regularly scheduled classes.
  • Sophomores in athletics will attend after dismissal from 1st period.
  • Dual Credit students (2nd/3rd) will remain in their MCC courses until they are officially released by their instructors or when their class ends at 10:30am

  • December 2nd: STAAR EOC Algebra and English II Retakes
  • December 3rd: STAAR EOC English I Retakes
  • December 4th: STAAR EOC Biology and US History Retakes
  • December 9th: STAAR EOC Interim for all English I and English II Students
  • December 11th: STAAR EOC Interim for all Algebra students
  • December 16th: The ASVAB has been rescheduled for Dec. 16th. Please click here to register for it.
